almost time for fall.

I will have to wait another three weeks or so to say "Happy Fall!" to you all, but it's already starting to feel like summer is almost over. It's the first day of September. We have temperatures in the low 70's. Rumor has it Starbucks is starting to serve Pumpkin Spice Lattes. That sounds like the start of Fall to me!

To welcome the change in seasons I made some Pumpkin Spice Cupcakes this weekend. I followed this recipe. I hesitate to even call it a recipe because it only has 3 ingredients, one of which is boxed cake mix. However, it's quick and easy and the results weren't too bad. I would suggest adding a fair amount of milk to keep the batter from being too thick. Even with the milk, you will end up with something in between a cupcake and a muffin. I like to call them Muffcakes. (You can convince yourself it's okay to eat one for breakfast when you think of them almost like a muffin!)

If you're looking for a way to celebrate Fall but aren't the cooking type, just turn to Etsy! I've seen plenty handmade and vintage finds lately that incorporate leaves and other elements from the outdoors, feature warm and rich colors, and otherwise have that Fall feel. Here are a few of my favorite:

I don't have plans for a lot of holiday items in the shop, but you will see a few sneak in here and there. Sets of these Halloween inspired BINGO markers will be in the shop today.
