I'm heading to NYC at the end of August with my mom and am looking for the same kinds of places. I'll keep checking back to see what others have to say!
ReplyDeleteI want to go to NYC so bad! Love the giveaway! My best travel tip is expect the trip to go different than you expect, and then you won't be disappointed :)
ReplyDeleteYou and your fab giveaways, I swear.
ReplyDeleteI can't remember the name of the bar, but I am sure it is in the meat packing district, or maybe the village.. A monk serves you beer, and the music is gregorian chants...the monks will also "shhh" you if you get too loud. I absolutely loved it!
Wow. I'm leaving for NYC next week! First time visiting the East Coast for me.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite vacation spot will always be Italy.
Billy's Bakery has great cupcakes, esp. red velvet. On 9th b/w 21 and 22 (Chelsea). If it still exists (been a couple of years since I went here), Outlet 7 in the East Village (117 E. 7th) is great. It is the leftovers from sample sales. I bought a bunch of Orla Kiely here at super discounted prices. Have a great trip!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite places is "Rice to Riches", this awesome place like an ice cream place but they sell various varieties of rice pudding.
ReplyDeletePatzeria Perfect Pizza-the BEST pizza place you'll eat at! It's a tiny little place but the guys behind the counter make you feel like you've been coming there for years. They have a delishious variety of pizza, calazones, and stromboli.

I love your giveaways! <33
ReplyDeleteMy favorite vacation spot is Paris and Venice >.< (can't choose between the two ;D )
My favorite vacation spot is Switzerland! Especially around Lake Geneva. Every little town is quaint and wonderful (we especially loved Montreux) and I could just eat it up!
ReplyDeleteI grew up in the Boston area and never made it to New York! Oops. I'd definently want to stop by Anthropologie and see what their display is though!
Dang! I've only been to NYC once so I don't have any suggestions for unusual places - except for the Statue of Liberty CROWN! I was lucky enough to make it to the crown when I visited the city back in the 80's and it was a great experience.
ReplyDeleteThe only time I went to New York I was 14 years old. I would love to go back someday. My best travel tip would be to make a plan of what to do - and then follow it, knowing that you don't have to if something better comes along. :) Have a wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteYou should come visit my town of New Canaan - I know that you don't live that far from us. We have really cool boutiques and great restaurants and cafes (just opened - Crumbs Bakeshop and Le Pain Quotidien).
ReplyDeleteOur favorite vacation spot is Martha's VIneyard. We go back every year and plan on buying our own vacation house there soon. It is our favorite place in the world!
Another besutiful giveaway :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite vacation spot is definitely Italy. And I've never been to Paris but I'm pretty sure I'll love it, if I ever get to go.
Best travel tip:
ReplyDeletebe sure to ask the locals where to find good spots. they can be a wealth of info! :)
I was just in NYC about a month and half ago. Magnolia Bakery had very yummy cupcakes! Mmmm.. You MUST go to Tinsel Trading Company and shop all things vintages if you like that sort of thing, and I think you do! It was amazing. Check the hours though, they only were open until 6pm and not open on Sundays! Have fun!
ReplyDeletehey hey, looks like the giveaway is over, but i've been collecting a list of craft/vintage related places to hit up in NYC -- there's a list (ever-growing) here: http://delicious.com/lespetitespois/nyc%2Btrip
ReplyDeletei'd have to second tinsel trading... even though they were closed/moving locations when i tried to go... i'm determined to see it this time!
